If you love to teach, love to explore and want to see a different part of the world, then come to Lanzhou, China and teach at the Northwest University for Nationalities!
Who Are We?
The Northwest University for Nationalities (NWUN) is a leading university in the city of Lanzhou. NWUN’s student body is made up of 29,000 young people from every one of China’s 56 ethnic groups including the Tibetan, Uyghur, Hui, Mongol people and come from all over China. Many of these students are the first generation within their communities to have access to tertiary education and much of their study and research helps identify and preserve some of the distinctive characteristics of their rich cultural heritage. Get a map of China and you’ll find the city of Lanzhou in the geographical centre of the country along the old Silk Road. Lanzhou is famous for its pulled noodle beef soup, its long history and its diverse culture.
What Will You Teach?
Our new Joint China-US program will offer bridge courses in Academic English, Writing, Oral Presentation and Critical Thinking. You will use American-style curriculum and textbooks to teach eager university students. In addition, you may also teach Oral English classes to help students develop their communications skills.
What We Have to Offer:
Our compensation package includes a base salary of 5,200 to 6,000 RMB per month (6.2RMB=1USD), a furnished apartment, and a return flight from your home country each year. Plus, we will offer you a travel allowance, so you can explore the exciting sights of China during your holidays.
Who Are We Looking for?
We want someone with a passion for teaching and a love for helping students. Ideally you will have a Master’s degree or higher, a teaching certificate (CELTA/TESL/TEFL) and at least two years of teaching experience. Applicants who do not meet these requirements will be considered for other teaching positions. Start date will be late August 2015.
