Need Teachers For Our Little School in Favela Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro

Description

We are looking for dynamic teachers for our school here in Rio. We operate a small school that focuses on early childhood education. We are doing something very unique and getting really impressive results. There is not another school like us in Rio. We teach children ages 3-12 Monday through Friday in our school and it is all free. We have approximately 80-95 kids per day pass though our door. We teach English, Math, Art, Geography, Science, and Theater.

We are always in need of dynamic teachers that can adapt and evolve in a challenging teaching environment. Creative, engaging, effective. Our school is in the largest of the Brazilian Favelas. Really special place, school, and most importantly kids. We also teach English classes at night for adults and children. This a voluntary position. Volunteer in our school for 3 weeks or up to 3 months. Our volunteer team lives together in our volunteer house next to the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for those with prior English teaching experience, and or ESL experience. Also those with a teaching background, and or teaching experience. Must be dynamic, flexible, resilient, creative and engaging. Of course effective in the classroom and take a non traditional approach, or alternative out of the box approach to education.
