Multiple Locations, Colombia
Non-native English teachers are welcome to apply
No experience necessary
API is working together with Colombian government-sponsored and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to provide vocational English training in job training centers and English instruction in public high schools. Student ages range from fifteen to fifty years old, with varied language skills. English training is an important step to help locals succeed in school, find better jobs, and improve communication in the global market.
Colombian students typically study English from 1st to 12th grade, however, they feel least comfortable conversing in English. It is estimated that only 10% of approximately 15,000 English teachers in Colombia are fluent in English. Thus, Colombia's Ministry of Education and NGOs have asked API to recruit and place native English speakers in teaching positions where they make a positive impact on the English fluency of Colombians.
